Though the surge lasts for less than a second, it affects a lot. Let’s take the same example of a refrigerator consuming 500 watts of continuous power, it will take 2000 watts of power to start. A solar generator uses solar panels to collect the energy from the sunlight. So, each solar panel has the capability of generating a certain amount of amps. Use this formula to calculate the required solar panel capacity for running your appliance. Solar panel capacity = load capacity X operation hours. For instance, if you are using a 50-watt load operating for 10 hours, then as per the formula, 50X10 = 500-watt hours.
