This Installation projector, VPL-FHZ55 uses blue laser as its light source, this blue laser excites a phosphorus material thus producing white light. This white light is then split into red blue and green colors and this leads to 4000 lumens of brightness output. Due to use of laser light source this projector can be switched on instantly thus ensuring greater operability as it can resume its full brightness almost instantly. Another Good thing is that this projector is maintenance free for up to20,000 hours, thus making it suitable for applications where prolong life of equipment is required like hospitals, museums etc.

As this projector is not based on conventional lamps it is mercury free and comes with various energy saving features. The Auto Light dimming features reduces the light output to as low as 5 percent when not in use. Auto Brightness adjustment feature reduces the illumination while projecting a dark image thus conserving energy. The constant brightness mode drives the projector at reduced light output to prolong the life of the equipment and provides stable viewing experience. As far as alignment of the projector goes, you can position this projector at any angle on its side or upside down. It comes with 1.6 x zoom lens, horizontal and verticle shifts of 32 percent and 60 percent respectively in either direction. The VPL-FHZ55 projector is available in both black and white colored casing and will be available across all Sony outlets in India from september 13 onwards at a price of Rs. 4,75,000
